Week 5-“I can’t wait to share with people the gift of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It changes my life everyday and I know it will change theirs too.”

Hola family and friends!

I’m almost done here in the CCM! I leave on Monday and I will finally have the opportunity to teach the people in Guadalajara!! Pray for them! and me too. This has already been the biggest learning/growing experience of my life. I’m excited to see what the next few weeks bring.

This week is like the month of May senior year. Lots of fun and jokes and a little hard to stay on task. Its been such a  blessing to be in the district that I’m in and have the opportunity to be the district leader because it has helped me become close to people I might not have otherwise.

We have so much fun here. I’m the MTC Gatorade baseball world series champ. Yes me. It was dope. We’ve also had some crazy basketball games. I was asked my an Elder if I was committed to play at Arizona after the mish and I was flattered. Nope not committed to Arizona but probably a dope men’s rec league.
My Spanish is alright but I just want to learn in the field. I want that raw Spanish. and food too. Good glory the comedor is extremely underwhelming. That’s the only thing I really complain about. I try to be positive about everything but that’s the exception.
One thing super positive is General Conference is this weekend. Let me know how annoying social media gets. Ha but I’m so pumped for conference. I love listening to talks here and I get way more out of them. So conference should be a game changer.
The MTC has been so dope but I’m ready!  I cant wait to share with people the gift of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. It changes my life everyday and I know it will change theirs too.
Hopefully I will have more to talk about as I am serving in Guadalajara. Sorry for the short kind of boring emails. But most things in life are kind of short and boring so I think you will all survive.
les amo mucho!!

Week 2-” I love that my prayers have been answered so clearly here.”

Hey everybody!! How is everyone doing? I miss a lot of you like crazy, but I’m really starting to love being a missionary. The CCM is so fun, but also very boring lol. My teachers are the best though I love them. Hermano Trejo and Hermana Salazar. They are totally dating but they wont tell any of us. Thursday was Hermano Trejos birthday and we straight raided the Tienda and bought everything for him. We filled up a huge box of all his favorite candy and gave it to him. He was so so excited. At the end of the day when he was about to go home we all took our ties off and gave them to him (dont worry it wasn’t one of my favs) and he almost started to cry. He was SO grateful and it made me so excited to serve these humble people.
Spanish is coming along. I can teach all the lessons fairly well and I can understand almost anything somebody says to me. Its so cool. I love Spanish. I also memorized the first vision this week.
Not a ton of exciting things have happened this week, but I’m really starting to get into the flow and enjoying it. Sunday was a little hard and i was super annoyed all day but I’m working on it. I can feel the Lord changing me and molding me everyday into the person I need to be on this mission. I’m doing my best to become more humble and loving.
Ive gotten really close with Elder Christensen from St George this week. Love that guy. We shave together every night. Our whole district in general is really close and I love them all.
This week my favorite thing I studied was Alma:32. Its all about faith, and I loved it because its not always easy to know what kind of faith you have, and if your faith is growing. I loved reading it because it really answered some of my prayers as to where I am with my own personal faith. I know faith is one of the most important things in this gospel. It is the first principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and I cant wait to share that with the people in Guadalajara.
My companion and I get along great and we haven’t had any trouble. Keep praying for his Spanish though. Its okay, I put our companionship on my back during lessons and its fine.
Ive made a lot of friends here and I love the spirit I feel here. I love that my prayers have been answered so clearly here. I love how its easy to get along with everyone. I love that I get to learn this new language everyday and I can feel Christ helping me. I love being a missionary, and I love being a member of this true church.
Thank you everyone for letters and packages. They make my entire week. I love you all and i pray for you guys often.
This week is Mexican Independence Day. Pray for the Mexicans to be quiet.
Love you all,

Week 1-“I’m the best dressed Elder by leaps and bounds, and everyone loves my shoes.”

Hello everyone!
First of all, I’m doing so dang good and I love it here. The first few days were so long and kind of boring but I love it so much now. So when I first got here I was assigned to be companions with Elder Knight. He is from Orem and he is so cool. He knows a bit about shoes so we have had some good talks. Its been a blessing to have a good companion.
So the day after I got here, we kind of had a little district meeting and met our branch president, Presidente Machado. He is so dang funny and I love him. So out of no where all of the sudden president has me read from page 57 of the missionary handbook and he had me read a passage that said “the goal of a leader is not merely to supervise or motivate, but to lift, encourage, inspire, and bless.” After I read that he said, “Will you be the district leader of 12A?” So yeah, that happened and I’m the district leader. I actually really like it. But i already had an elder in my district who is 25 come up to me and tell me he didn’t like me very much and he is praying to not have negative feelings toward me…. lol. But its all good.
I learn a fat amount of Spanish everyday. I can teach the discussions all in Spanish but its fairly broken. My companion really struggles with Spanish, and on top of that he isn’t the best teacher so our discussions are all on me and I dont mind, but he always seems upset that I kinda keep them going and talk the most. Pray for his Spanish please, I love Spanish though, and I love all of my teachers too.
Me and Elder Ricketts from home are having such a good time, and I love him so much. We have become really good friends with one of the other Elders named Elder Skidmore. He is perhaps the funniest kid I have met. I love him.
Ok, the Comedor, or the cafeteria is straight up suicide. I have never missed something more than I miss my sweet mothers gourmet kitchen. But I’m learning.
Sunday was the turning point in the week. Once Sunday came around I was so pumped to be here. Just all the meetings and lack of actual classes was niceeee.
We had an area seventy come speak to us, Elder Reyes. I loved it. He talked all about faith and how obedience builds faith. We had a great devotional about it afterward with the district and the spirit was strong as can be. That was a highlight this week. The other highlight was I made a joke in Spanish and it was out of control.
So today is the first pday. Much needed and much loved. We went to the Mexico City temple this morning it was so so amazing. I loved it so much. It was so cool to get out of the CCM for a little and see the city.
So that’s pretty much my first 10 days in an email. If you have more specific questions write me! Also, one thing i want from everyone is you can actually send me letters every single day here through the mexicomtcpackage.com website. Its free and they just print off emails and give them out. I would loveeee that!
Not a ton has changed yet, I’m the best dressed elder by leaps and bounds, and everyone loves my shoes. I mess around and ball on Elders every single day. Its nice to know some things never change.
Well I absolutely love the CCM. Its very hard sometimes, and some things are harder than others, especially the beds lol. But I have already grown so much and I feel so close to the spirit and to my Savior. I know without a doubt I am doing the right thing, and that this church is so true. I lean on the examples of so many of you and the faith you all have. My faith has increased everyday and I’m loving the mission. Keep praying for me! I love you all, have a fantastic week and I will talk to you all next Friday.
PS Those Krispy Kremes changed my life mom. Thank you so much, dont hesitate to use that service often.
